Teaching Assistant – SEN (Autism) – Stratford, London

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and other learning difficulties in Key Stages 3 and 4 at a large specialist school in Stratford, East London. This is a long‑term position offering a permanent contract and competitive daily rates.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one assistance to students with special educational needs, helping them engage with the curriculum.
- Collaborate closely with teachers to relay student progress and adapt support strategies.
- Maintain rigorous safeguarding standards and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Utilise specialised communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, Signalong or Team Teach where appropriate.
Required profile
- Experience in SEN support, community care, or youth work.
- Flexibility and inclusivity to work with a range of special needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills, motivated attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures in schools.
