Teaching Assistant – SEN Primary (Manchester)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN primary provision in Manchester (M13). The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:00 pm, supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, behavioural and learning needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support across Key Stages in a specialist setting.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning activities.
• Help manage challenging behaviour using approved restraint techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a consistent, calm environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient and resilient attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the setting.

Required skills

• Team Teach or equivalent official restraint training (or willingness to obtain).
