Teaching Assistant – SEN Support in Boys' School

About the role

This position supports students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a high‑performing boys' secondary school in Islington. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals, you will help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and develop socially.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and moderate learning difficulties.
• Assist in delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs.
• Encourage communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Promote a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies to monitor progress.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional and personal development throughout the school day.

Required profile

• Caring, patient and resilient attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant, Childcare or SEND‑related) are advantageous but not essential.

• Day rate of £105‑115.
• Temporary to permanent contract.
• Working hours 08:40‑15:40 on site.
