Teaching Assistant – SEND, SEMH & ASD (Beckenham)

About the role
Protocol Education is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD in schools across South East England from September. The role involves providing one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to help children thrive academically and socially.
Key responsibilities
- Support children individually or in small groups, focusing on emotional regulation, communication and learning engagement.
- Assist pupils with ASD, SEMH, complex needs and profound multiple learning disabilities.
- Facilitate sensory, personal care and wellbeing routines as required.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils, teachers and SEND teams.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Patient, resilient and empathetic with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
- Calm and confident when supporting a range of additional needs.
- Reliable, adaptable and willing to engage proactively.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with children and staff.
- Available to start from September.
Required skills
- Experience or interest in supporting SEND, SEMH, ASD or PMLD pupils (experience not essential).
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and specialist teams.
