Teaching Assistant – SEND, SEMH & ASD

About the role

Protocol Education is seeking caring Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD in schools across South East England from September. You will work alongside teachers and specialist teams to create a safe, supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small‑group support for children with complex needs.
• Assist pupils with managing emotions, communication and engagement in learning.
• Support sensory, personal care and wellbeing routines as required.
• Build positive relationships and trust with children, staff and families.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and SEND teams to deliver tailored interventions.

Required profile

• Patient, resilient and empathetic.
• Passionate about inclusive education and supporting SEND, SEMH and ASD learners.
• Calm, confident and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Reliable, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Available to start in September.
