Teaching Assistant – SEND Specialist (Sandbach)

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the new Cheshire Hall School in Sandbach. You will work with children and young people aged 5‑19 who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them learn, develop confidence and achieve daily milestones.
Key responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials for SEND pupils.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to promote academic progress and self‑esteem.
- Monitor individual pupil behaviour and wellbeing, celebrating “huge small victories”.
- Assist with classroom management, routine tasks and the preparation of learning resources.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate updates to senior staff.
Required profile
- Resilient and dedicated, with a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to adapt to the varied needs of pupils across ages 5‑19.
