Teaching Assistant – SEND Specialist School

About the role

Reed Education is partnering with a highly specialist SEND school in Meldreth to recruit a compassionate Teaching Assistant. You will support children and young people aged 6‑19 with a wide range of learning, sensory and medical needs, helping them achieve educational and personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group support for students with PMLD, autism, ADHD, sensory impairments and complex medical conditions.
• Assist in delivering an individualised curriculum that promotes independence and wellbeing.
• Contribute to therapeutic and multidisciplinary approaches, including physical intervention and personal care when required.
• Support students across classroom, community and outdoor learning environments.
• Promote equality, respect and a learner‑centred ethos throughout the school day.

Required profile

• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs and willing to pursue formal qualifications (fully funded).
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated with a strong commitment to safeguarding.
• Enthusiastic about outdoor and community‑based learning.
• Proactive, solution‑focused and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

What we offer

• Full‑time, 40‑hour week (Monday‑Friday) during term time.
• Hourly rate of £12.87‑£14.03.
