Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEN School

About the role
Join a specialist SEN school near Farnham as a Teaching Assistant, supporting children with autism, SEMH and communication difficulties. This full‑time position offers hands‑on experience in a supportive, inclusive environment, ideal for recent graduates looking to build a career in education, psychology or therapy.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students with additional needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Assist in delivering engaging, personalised learning activities.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Required profile
- Psychology, Criminology or Education graduates seeking practical experience.
- Individuals interested in careers such as Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Teaching or SEN.
- Experience with children or vulnerable young people is desirable but not essential.
- Patient, resilient, empathetic with excellent communication skills.
- Positive attitude, genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
- Ability to commute to Farnham.
