Teaching Assistant / Sports Coach (SEN)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Teaching Assistant who can also deliver sports coaching in a SEN environment at a school in Custom House, East London. The role combines classroom support with the delivery of physical education and extracurricular sport activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and prepare classroom resources.
• Provide targeted learning support to individual pupils and small groups.
• Deliver and assist with PE lessons, sports coaching sessions and extracurricular activities.
• Promote teamwork, confidence and positive behaviour through sport.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to teaching staff.
• Supervise pupils during break times, school trips and events.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
• Experience as a sports coach, PE coach, teaching assistant or similar role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, patient and proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
