Teaching Assistant – Sports Enthusiast – Year 3 Primary School

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a strong sporting background to join a friendly Year 3 class in a primary school in Haringey. The role combines classroom support with the opportunity to inspire pupils to stay active, confident and engaged.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Year 3 teacher in daily classroom activities.
• Provide occasional one‑to‑one assistance for a pupil with Autism (ASD).
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement through an active, sports‑focused approach.
• Deliver small‑group learning activities that reinforce academic concepts.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SEND team.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and resilient with a genuine passion for sport.
• Experience working with children in schools, coaching, camps or youth clubs.
• Calm, patient and proactive attitude.
• Interest in supporting children with additional needs.
• Willingness to work as part of a collaborative school team.
