Teaching Assistant – Sporty Year 3 & ASD Support

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Year 3 class at a primary school in Haringey, North London. The role combines classroom support with a focus on sport‑based activities and occasional one‑to‑one assistance for a pupil with autism.

Key responsibilities

• Support the teacher in delivering the Year 3 curriculum across all subjects.
• Use sport and physical activity to motivate and engage pupils.
• Provide occasional 1:1 support for a young boy with ASD, helping him stay engaged and regulate emotions.
• Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SEND team.

Required profile

• Experience working with primary‑aged children (school, coaching or youth work).
• A genuine passion for sport, fitness or physical education.
• Positive, energetic and proactive attitude.
• Interest in supporting children with additional needs, including autism.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
