Teaching Assistant – Support Children with SEN

About the role

Reed Education is seeking compassionate Teaching Assistants to support children with special educational needs (SEN) in schools around Haywards Heath. You will work closely with teachers, parents and professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering differentiated lessons for SEN pupils.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to reinforce learning objectives.
• Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations with the teaching team.
• Help maintain a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting.
• Relevant qualification (NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent) in SEN support or education.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach to learning support.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with teachers, parents and other professionals.

Required skills

• No specific technical tools required; focus is on supporting learners.
