About the role
Teaching Personnel is recruiting passionate Teaching Assistants and qualified Teachers to join specialist SEN schools in Wokingham from September 2026. You will support children and young people aged 5‑18 with a range of additional needs, working in a nurturing, structured environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personalised classroom support to pupils with autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, ADHD, sensory processing challenges, and related behaviours.
- Collaborate with therapists, behaviour specialists and families to implement holistic education plans.
- Prepare and adapt learning materials to suit individual needs.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment records.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.
- Patient, empathetic, resilient and adaptable.
- For teachers: Qualified (QTS/QTLS preferred) with SEN or classroom experience desirable.
- For teaching assistants: Experience in education or care is beneficial but not essential.
Required skills
- Ability to follow and implement SEN‑specific teaching strategies.
- Effective communication with pupils, staff and families.
- Basic record‑keeping and reporting skills.
