Teaching Assistant – Temporary (Sept) – South East London

About the role
We are seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to join a leading secondary academy in Greenwich (part of the Harris Federation) for a temporary assignment starting in September. This role offers hands‑on experience supporting Key Stage 3 and 4 students in a dynamic school environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide in‑class support by breaking down tasks, managing classroom dynamics and keeping students focused.
- Lead one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions for pupils needing extra help in core subjects or with SEN such as dyslexia, ASD or ADHD.
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms and subject areas as required.
- Prepare and tailor learning resources for vulnerable students.
Required profile
- Prior experience supporting young people (TA, tutor, camp leader, youth worker) or a recent university graduate with a strong desire to work in education.
- Flexibility and resilience to thrive in an unconfirmed assignment duration.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with secondary students and collaborate with staff.

- Competitive daily rate of £90‑£115, paid weekly via PAYE.
