Teaching Assistant – Wallasey (Secondary School)

About the role

Join a supportive secondary school environment in Wallasey for the upcoming academic year. As a Teaching Assistant you will provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students aged 11‑16, helping them achieve their academic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted academic assistance to KS3 and KS4 pupils.
• Collaborate with subject teachers to keep lessons focused and on track.
• Encourage positive behaviour, attendance and active participation.
• Assist with revision, coursework and the development of effective study habits.
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to classroom teachers.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., support worker, tutor, youth worker).
• Genuine passion for mentoring secondary‑school students.
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
