About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team at Whimple Primary School in East Devon. The role involves supporting teachers in delivering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils. It is a fixed‑term appointment of 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, for 39 weeks of the academic year, paid at £13.92‑£14.14 per hour.
Key responsibilities
- Provide general classroom support to the teacher and pupils.
- Work one‑to‑one with children who need additional assistance.
- Assist with preparing teaching materials and resources.
- Support pupils during classroom activities and transitions.
Required profile
- Experience working with young children.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English.
