Teaching Assistant – Year 1 Classroom (Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Year 1 class in Chester from September 2026. The position is part‑time, working 9 am to 12 pm, Monday to Friday, supporting a pupil with an EHCP on the autism spectrum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to the designated pupil, implementing their EHCP goals.
• Assist the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson preparation.
• Help maintain a calm and structured learning environment.
• Support the pupil’s social and academic development throughout the day.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in early years settings.
• Ability to work calmly and proactively with a child on the autism spectrum.
• Proof of right to work in the UK (passport or birth certificate).
• CV covering at least ten years of education or employment history.
• Fully enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one (cost reimbursed).
