Teaching Assistant – Year 2 (SEN Support)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Tower Hamlets. The role focuses on supporting a Year 2 class, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping close learning gaps.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group support for SEN pupils.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and behaviour strategies.
• Encourage positive learning habits and independence.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting (preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, patient, and proactive attitude.
• Reliable and committed to pupil progress.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
