Teaching Assistant – Year 3/4 (Permanent)

About the role

We are recruiting a permanent Year 3/4 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming 2‑form entry primary school in Gloucester. Starting in September 2026, you will support teaching and learning across Years 3 and 4, helping pupils progress academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Assist class teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Support pupils with diverse educational needs and abilities.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials.
• Promote positive behaviour and active engagement.
• Help track pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Contribute to a safe, stimulating learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with primary‑aged children, preferably within Key Stage 2.
• Patient, nurturing, enthusiastic attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Commitment to helping every child achieve their full potential.
• Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
