Teaching opportunities for newly qualified teachers (ECTs)

About the role

Academics is partnering with schools across Calderdale and Littleborough to offer newly qualified teachers (ECTs) a range of teaching placements starting this September. Positions include daily supply, short‑term contracts and longer‑term assignments in primary, secondary and SEN settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the national curriculum to pupils in assigned year groups.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with school policies.
• Support pupils with diverse learning needs, including SEN provision.
• Collaborate with senior staff to maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Complete required induction and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) obtained within the last 12 months.
• Enthusiastic, adaptable and ready to begin a teaching career.
• Willingness to work in Todmorden, Littleborough and surrounding areas.
• Passion for inspiring and supporting young learners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
• Classroom management techniques.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for varied abilities.
