Team Leader - Engineering

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established precision engineering company to find a Team Leader who will manage a team of service engineers. The role blends hands‑on technical work with people leadership, ensuring high‑quality service, repair, and calibration for a global customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team of service engineers, providing technical guidance and day‑to‑day leadership.
• Perform hands‑on service, repair, and validation/calibration tasks alongside the team.
• Act as the senior point of contact for customers, handling queries and resolving issues professionally.
• Support commercial activities, including pricing of labour and spare parts.
• Assess warranty claims and make balanced decisions.
• Contribute to the growth and profitability of service contracts.
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards and UKAS accreditation requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement to increase efficiency, consistency and first‑time fix rates.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a service or field engineer with leadership or management responsibilities.
• Strong technical capability and willingness to work hands‑on.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer satisfaction and business needs.
• Resilient, solution‑focused attitude, especially in challenging situations.
• Familiarity with UKAS accreditation requirements.
