Team Leader – Locality West

About the role

The Locality West team at Leicester City Council is seeking a proactive Team Leader to drive high‑performance social work services. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring alignment with the council’s Vision & Values and delivering quality adult social care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide decisive leadership and set clear objectives for the team.
• Manage service delivery, monitor performance, and hold individuals accountable for outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal partners and external agencies.
• Promote inclusion, equality and rights within service provision.
• Conduct regular quality conversations and performance reviews.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring and feedback.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing social work or similar public‑sector teams.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff while respecting diversity.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Commitment to the council’s values and to safeguarding vulnerable adults.
