Team Leader - Residential Childcare

About the role

Northridge Care Group Ltd is seeking a Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker to join its children’s residential services in Preston and surrounding areas. You will lead shifts, support staff, and deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning disabilities and complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shifts within residential homes offering EBD and LD services.
• Support and guide residential support workers on each shift.
• Provide trauma‑informed, person‑centred care to young people.
• Act as a key worker, implementing care and placement plans.
• Promote independence, life‑skills development and positive outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and Ofsted standards.
• Complete daily records, incident reports and care documentation.
• Maintain a safe, structured and nurturing residential environment.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3/4 in Children & Young People (or equivalent/working towards).
• Experience in residential childcare, especially with emotional and behavioural needs.
• Proven experience supervising or leading staff teams in a care setting.
• Resilience, empathy and a genuine commitment to young people.

What we offer

• Salary up to £38,500 per annum.
• 39.2 hours per week on a 5‑week rolling rota (2 days on, 3 days off).
• Shift times 8 am‑10 pm with occasional sleep‑ins (≈12 per month, £55 per sleep‑in).
