Team Leader, Site Planning (Prepack Cheese)

About the role

Saputo Dairy UK, which owns British brands such as Cathedral City, Clover, Country Life, Frylight and Wensleydale, is hiring a Team Leader for Planning at its Nuneaton site, its largest UK site with more than 450 employees. You will manage and control the Prepack cheese category and related processes through planning and stock-holding policies, minimise stock costs, and lead a team of four planners. The post is a fixed-term contract until February 2028, ideally starting immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning team in creating and managing production schedules so demand is met on time and in full, optimising site efficiency, performance targets and OEE.
• Drive service level targets through material planning and inventory management, keeping stock aligned with production plans and MIN/MAX policies.
• Manage the planning impact of new product development and material changes, minimising write-offs and resolving obsolete stock and new item set-ups.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Technical, Logistics and Customer Service, and with third-party suppliers.
• Support site KPI scorecard targets through regular performance analysis and act as the escalation point for planning issues in the T2/T3 process.
• Influence senior stakeholders, balance competing priorities and improve the Prepack S&OP process.
• Prepare presentations for business cycle reviews and run ad hoc simulations of supply, stock and capacity scenarios.

Required profile

• Degree level education (or equivalent), preferably in supply chain, logistics, purchasing or business.
• Experience leading production planning, materials management or supply chain teams.
• Knowledge of stock management and supply chain processes, and of statistics used for process control and analysis.
• Able to coach and develop team members and to influence peers and senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Warehouse and planning systems, Excel and the MS Office suite.
• Logical reasoning, clear presentation of findings and ability to prioritise within the site's process flow.
