Team Manager - Assessment

About the role

We are seeking a Team Manager for our Assessment Service in Barking & Dagenham. This is a 6‑month locum position, working 35 hours per week on a hybrid basis, supporting children, young people and families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assessment services to children and young people through operational management of social work teams.
• Provide reflective supervision and support the professional development of each team member.
• Oversee all casework undertaken by the team and ensure high‑quality social work practice.
• Incorporate the Strengthening Families Model into team management and service delivery.
• Maintain robust safeguarding knowledge and ensure compliance with safeguarding standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Social Work.
• Minimum of 3 years permanent experience in social work.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Excellent analytical and writing abilities.
• Passionate, caring and dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families.
