Team Manager – Child Exploitation & Missing Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead the Child Exploitation and Missing team in Wakefield. You will oversee a dedicated group of practitioners who support children and young people at risk of exploitation or who have gone missing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, supervision and support to a team of Child & Family Workers.
• Oversee complex casework, ensuring high‑quality risk assessment, safety planning and intervention.
• Coordinate multi‑agency responses and chair decision‑making meetings.
• Promote trauma‑informed, contextual safeguarding practices.
• Identify emerging risks, themes and community hotspots.
• Work with partners to disrupt exploitation, reduce missing episodes and improve outcomes.
• Drive continuous learning, reflective practice and service improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with extensive experience in complex casework.
• Proven management and leadership experience in a social care setting.
• Strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
• Passion for delivering high‑quality services and positive change.
• Willingness to undergo police vetting.
