Team Manager - Family help service

About the role

The Family Help Service at Liverpool City Council is seeking a Team Manager to lead a team of consultant social workers, social workers and outreach family support workers. This role ensures high‑quality practice and positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct line management for consultant social workers, social workers and outreach family support workers.
• Maintain and improve the quality of practice across the team.
• Support consultant social workers with their own line‑management duties.
• Oversee case holders and supervisors to ensure consistent supervision and effective interventions.
• Manage performance, attendance and health & safety requirements for all staff within the hierarchy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing social work or family support teams.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child‑young person outcomes.
• Ability to monitor and improve practice quality.
• Experience handling performance, attendance and health & safety matters.
