Team Manager – Family Support Services

About the role

Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated Team Manager to lead its Family Centre across Godalming and Hale. This full‑time position offers the chance to shape family support services, safeguard children and young people, and drive strategic outcomes for the Waverley Borough and surrounding Surrey areas.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Family Centre team, including Family Support Workers, Youth Skills Workers, Community Engagement workers and Administrators.
• Develop and maintain effective services for children, young people and families, ensuring Barnardo's standards are met.
• Attend Surrey County Council performance management meetings with the CSM and represent the voice of children and families.
• Collaborate with local providers such as health agencies and community groups to reduce inequalities and deliver timely support.
• Oversee allocation processes, guide Family Support Workers, and ensure clear actions are taken for each family.

Required profile

• Dynamic and personable with solid experience in family support.
• Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a proven track record of line management.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to motivate a multidisciplinary team.
