Team Manager – Kinship Assessment Team

About the role

The Kinship Assessment Team within Lambeth's Fostering and Permanency Service is seeking a motivated Team Manager. You will lead a small team to deliver high‑quality assessments for kinship carers, supporting Lambeth’s vision of being one of the best places for children to grow up.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of five permanent social workers and one compliance officer.
• Oversee the delivery of inclusive, high‑quality kinship assessments.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including the Children Act and fostering regulations.
• Promote corporate parenting principles and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
• Collaborate with partner agencies using multidisciplinary approaches.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with extensive experience in fostering, kinship or special guardianship assessments.
• Strong knowledge of the Children Act, fostering regulations and related legislation.
• Proven experience managing staff within a fostering service.
• Demonstrated leadership, risk‑management and continuous‑improvement mindset.
