Team Manager – MASH (Children's Safeguarding)

About the role
Opus People Solutions is recruiting on behalf of Suffolk County Council for an experienced Team Manager to lead the Integrated Front Door/MASH service. The Front Door is the first point of contact for children and families, making this a pivotal role within Children’s Services.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing multi‑agency Front Door team.
- Provide clear management oversight of contacts, referrals and threshold decisions.
- Drive timely, safe and effective safeguarding decision‑making.
- Support social workers and practitioners to deliver strengths‑based, child‑centred practice.
- Ensure high‑quality risk assessment and safeguarding interventions.
- Monitor performance, quality assurance and service outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with partner agencies across the safeguarding network.
- Promote a culture of learning, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support practitioners with complex case discussions and decision‑making.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant management experience within Children’s Social Care.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, thresholds, risk assessment and statutory responsibilities.
- Experience leading teams within MASH, Front Door, Assessment or similar services.
- Confident decision‑maker able to provide direction in complex situations.
- Passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes for children and families.
- Proven ability to drive performance, improve practice and support workforce development.
- Committed to visible and accessible leadership.
