Team Manager – Mental Health Support

About the role
Southdown’s Staying Well Service delivers out‑of‑hours, walk‑in crisis support for adults experiencing mental health distress. As a Team Manager you will lead a compassionate, multi‑skilled team that provides one‑to‑one and group support, safety planning and practical guidance to help people feel heard and regain control.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of mental health practitioners delivering crisis support.
- Ensure safe, non‑clinical environment for service users and manage day‑to‑day operations.
- Coordinate with NHS and local community partners to reduce avoidable hospital admissions.
- Maintain accurate records, produce reports and contribute to service development.
- Attend mandatory face‑to‑face training sessions in Lewes several times a year.
Required profile
- Experience working with people with mental health needs.
- Good understanding of local NHS and other support services.
- Commitment to leading a team and supporting clients with confidence.
- Willingness to work rostered hours, including evenings and bank holidays.
Required skills
- Team leadership and supervision.
- Knowledge of mental health crisis intervention.
- Effective communication and relationship‑building.
