Team Supervisor – Retail & Trade Operations

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Team Supervisor to join our Plumb Centre branch in Bedford. You will support the Branch Manager in daily operations, lead the team on the shop floor, and ensure a smooth, customer‑focused experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with day‑to‑day running of the branch and take charge in their absence.
• Supervise, train and provide performance feedback to colleagues to meet targets.
• Serve customers at the trade counter, offering product advice and building relationships.
• Develop the customer base, improve retention, satisfaction and product mix.
• Identify and recommend ways to improve profitability.
• Build rapport with suppliers and manage general warehouse duties, including goods in/out, picking and packing heavy stock.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable.
• Essential experience in face‑to‑face customer service or sales.
• Willingness to run the branch when the manager is unavailable.
• Comfortable making outbound sales calls.
• Team‑player attitude, ready to take on a diverse range of tasks.
• Positive, enthusiastic mindset with a strong work ethic.
