Technical Accounting & Group Reporting Advisor (Energy & Resources)

About the role

The Technical Accounting & Group Reporting Advisor will provide specialist accounting expertise to ensure the organisation meets all group reporting and financial reporting standards within the energy and natural resources sector. Based in Pangbourne, this temporary role supports the finance team in delivering accurate, timely group financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting advice and support to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Assist in the preparation and review of group financial reports to meet reporting deadlines.
• Analyse and interpret complex financial data for accurate reporting and decision‑making.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to align with group accounting policies.
• Support the implementation of new accounting standards across the organisation.
• Identify and resolve technical accounting issues as they arise.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes and systems.
• Provide training and guidance to colleagues on technical accounting matters.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and group reporting requirements.
• Experience in the energy and natural resources industry or similar sectors.
• Proficiency in analysing complex financial data and preparing reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to problem‑solving and process improvement.
