Technical Architect – 6 Month Contract (Hybrid, Glasgow)

About the role
Harvey Nash is seeking a Technical Architect to join a public‑sector digital transformation programme in Glasgow. This six‑month contract (outside IR35) works in a hybrid model and focuses on designing resilient, low‑cost solutions for services that protect children and vulnerable adults.
Key responsibilities
- Design new systems, services and technical architectures in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Produce high‑level documentation for governance, accreditation and implementation.
- Assess technical impact of changes, identify gaps and propose sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with a Lead Technical Architect, Cloud Architect and other Solution Architects.
Required profile
- Recent hands‑on or strong familiarity with AWS architecture.
- Experience (last five years) with two or more of Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Aurora DB.
- Proven ability to work in Agile environments (Scrum or KanBan).
- Fast learner who can operate independently across multiple stakeholder streams.
- Background in solutions architecture for government‑facing projects.
