Technical Architect – Release on Demand (Developer Enablement)

About the role

Citi is seeking a senior Technical Architect to join the Developer Enablement team within its CTO organisation. The role focuses on the Release on Demand (RoD) platform, a strategic release management and automation solution used by thousands of engineers across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve the architecture of the RoD platform to support rapid growth in users and release volume.
• Ensure platform scalability, availability, and reliability while embedding compliance and governance controls.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate SDLC automation, DORA best practices, and governance engines.
• Lead technical decisions and mentor engineers on release automation and platform best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement of release processes and support expansion to related tooling.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a technical architect or senior engineer in large‑scale, high‑throughput platforms.
• Strong background in release management, CI/CD pipelines, and software delivery automation.
• Ability to balance rapid delivery with strict governance, compliance, and quality standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with release automation platforms and CI/CD tooling.
• Deep understanding of SDLC governance, compliance controls, and DORA metrics.
• Architectural design for high‑availability, scalable systems.
