Technical Author – Lead Documentation for Electromechanical Products

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Author to join our client’s innovative team in the West Midlands. The role leads the creation and management of technical documentation for a global engineering business that delivers sophisticated electromechanical products.

Key responsibilities

• Produce clear, accurate manuals, spare‑parts catalogues, service instructions and other product literature.
• Lead the transition from traditional print to multi‑channel digital publishing.
• Manage and mentor a team of technical documentation professionals.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Management and other cross‑functional departments.
• Implement structured authoring, CMS adoption and reusable content strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical documentation for complex mechanical or electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience leading and developing documentation teams.
• Degree in Technical Communication, Engineering or related field.
• Fluent English; additional languages a plus.
