Technical Claims Lead – Financial Lines

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Claims Lead to join a leading Lloyd’s market insurer in London. The role focuses on Financial Lines such as Management Liability, D&O and FI, with the option to work on Tech E&O. You will manage complex primary and lead casualty claims from first notification through to settlement, acting as a strategic driver within a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex primary and lead casualty claims from inception to settlement.
• Conduct detailed coverage analysis, liability assessment and quantum evaluation.
• Develop and execute strategic claims handling plans, including oversight of litigation when required.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and brokers, leading negotiations and providing clear updates.
• Build and maintain strong broker and stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
• Contribute to team performance through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling Management Liability/D&O/FI claims within the Lloyd’s market, preferably in a primary lead capacity.
• Strong technical expertise across Financial Lines.
• Ability to manage complex liability and coverage issues independently.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a client‑facing approach.
• Commercially aware, proactive and solutions‑focused.
• High emotional intelligence for handling sensitive or high‑value claims.
