Technical Compliance Advisor

About the role

The Body Shop is seeking a Technical Compliance Advisor to lead compliance of all new and existing raw materials against internal and external standards. This hybrid role combines on‑site collaboration in Brighton with remote work, supporting the brand’s ethical beauty mission.

Key responsibilities

• Collate and review raw material data to meet internal and external requirements, keeping documentation up‑to‑date.
• Capture raw material information accurately in internal systems for easy access by teams.
• Communicate compliance issues promptly and work with cross‑functional teams to resolve them.
• Conduct gap analyses against evolving regulatory requirements and lead related compliance projects.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of worldwide regulations, including REACH, CLP, and standards such as Cruelty‑Free International Leaping Bunny and Vegan commitments.
• Respond to ad‑hoc technical queries on raw materials and formulations.
• Create and maintain internal standards, procedures, and work instructions for the Technical Compliance Department.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cosmetic or raw‑material regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of REACH and CLP regulations.
• Familiarity with Vegan and Cruelty‑Free International (Leaping Bunny) standards.
