Technical Consultant I – Energy Transition Consulting

About the role

Worley, a global energy, chemicals and resources consulting firm, is hiring a Technical Consultant I for its EMEA consulting practice. This is a junior-level role reporting through the Upstream, Midstream & LNG service line, working with traditional operators and investors. It offers two career routes, technical specialist and business management, and the chance to contribute to energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical and strategic studies on greenfield and brownfield upstream and midstream developments, including terminals, shipping and pipelines, with a focus on low-carbon fuels (LNG) and renewables.
• Carry out technical and commercial due diligence for financial institutions and owners.
• Support repurposing of assets for low-carbon and renewable energy vectors and identify decarbonisation pathways for customers.
• Conduct asset and portfolio optimisation to reduce carbon footprint, and perform cost estimation and economic analysis for client business cases.
• Support client engagements and proposals, and deliver technical and strategic projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional work experience.
• Demonstrated career start with a clear view of future career direction.
• Relevant technical or business degree.
• Awareness of the energy sector and its current challenges.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with people at all levels of an organisation.
• English language skills.
• Willingness to travel on semi-frequent, short-duration international business trips.
• Based in London is preferred because of the existing team, though alternatives will be considered.
