Technical Design Coordinator (Mechanical / Civil Engineering CAD)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Design Coordinator to join a fast‑growing, design‑led construction products business. The role blends mechanical and civil engineering knowledge with strong CAD expertise to coordinate projects from order through to delivery, acting as the bridge between customers, suppliers, contractors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate projects from initial order to final completion, ensuring timely progress.
• Review and manage general arrangement drawings, layouts and technical documentation.
• Engage with customers to clarify requirements and resolve technical queries.
• Identify missing information, design risks and potential issues early in the process.
• Oversee work produced by external design resources, managing revisions, approvals and sign‑offs.
• Collaborate with Operations to confirm solutions are manufacturable and commercially viable.
• Drive continuous improvement, standardisation and automation of design processes.
• Maintain accurate project records, drawing registers and status updates.

Required profile

• Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Product Design, Design Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years’ experience in design engineering, technical design, design coordination or project delivery.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work autonomously.

Required skills

• Proficient use of CAD software.

What we offer

• Salary £35,000 – £40,000 per year (negotiable based on experience).
