Technical Estimator – Sheet Metal Fabrication

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Estimator with solid experience in sheet metal fabrication to join a family‑run engineering business. You will translate customer enquiries, drawings and specifications into accurate quotations while supporting the production team to deliver high‑quality components.

Key responsibilities

• Produce precise technical quotations for sheet metal projects.
• Review engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Estimate costs for material, laser cutting, folding, fabrication and subcontracted work.
• Support production with technical queries and suggest manufacturing improvements.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven estimating experience within sheet metal fabrication, engineering or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings reliably.
• Willingness to commute to Burnley on a regular basis.

Required skills

• Technical drawing interpretation.
• Estimating sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Laser cutting knowledge.
• Folding process expertise.
• Familiarity with SigmaNEST software.
