Technical Lead / Engineering Lead – London

About the role

Our client, a leading digital and data consultancy, is looking for a Technical Lead to join their London office. You will work in a fast‑moving, cross‑functional environment alongside product, design and other specialists to deliver high‑performance software solutions for a variety of sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers through the full delivery lifecycle.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, including event‑driven design and platform migration strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD, IaC and release management using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with clients to shape proposals, present technical approaches and support the sales process.
• Ensure system performance through load testing, caching, query optimisation and secure coding practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing and technically leading software engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and stakeholder management.
• Track record of improving delivery processes from development to operations.
• Ability to influence bids and technical proposals.
