Technical Lead

About the role

At a high level, the aim of this role is to ensure that the work produced by the pre‑litigation credit hire unit is technically excellent and fully aligned with the Keoghs Quality Framework and expectations of our clients. They will work directly with the Technical Manager and Business Unit Director and be responsible for supervision, mentoring and coaching of all file handlers within the pre‑litigation unit, with an emphasis on onboarding new starters.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a small, complex caseload of pre‑litigation credit hire files.
• Work with the Technical Manager to continuously improve best practice and workflows.
• Partner with team leaders and directors to embed client SLA’s, KPI’s and requirements.
• Identify areas of risk, emerging trends and avoidable litigation, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Provide supervision, technical guidance and competency framework progression for the team.
• Deliver training, coaching and onboarding programmes to develop technical expertise.
• Conduct financial authority audits and ad‑hoc internal audits as required.

Required profile

• Credit hire experience, preferably as a defendant, with pre‑litigation handling.
• Proven ability to manage own caseload and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Strong understanding of the claims process and KPI delivery.
• Experience in supervising, training or mentoring staff.
• Excellent communication, listening and feedback skills.
• Ability to anticipate problems and devise solutions.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
