Technical Manager – Chemical Manufacturing (COMAH)

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Chemist to step into a Technical Manager position within a leading third‑party and own‑label chemical manufacturer. You will work closely with the outgoing Technical Director, gaining mentorship and preparing to assume full technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all chemistry‑related activities across the business.
• Manage QHSE functions, including GMP, VMD, ISO standards and health & safety.
• Maintain COMAH compliance and act as Qualified Person (QP) where required.
• Lead laboratory operations, regulatory compliance and product registration.
• Provide technical guidance for manufacturing, new product development and process route optimisation.
• Support pre‑sales technical input and after‑sales customer support.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education in Chemistry.
• Proven experience in chemical manufacturing, preferably in formulation development, NPD or quality control.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and QHSE practices; COMAH experience desirable.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to mentor junior staff.
