Technical Manager (Electrical Appliances)

About the role

Our client, a leading supplier of household electrical appliances, is seeking a Technical Manager to join their technical team. This role focuses on product safety, quality and compliance rather than people management, ensuring every appliance meets the highest standards before reaching the market.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the quality, safety and performance of new and existing household electrical appliances.
• Review product designs prior to launch and recommend improvements.
• Investigate customer complaints, returned items and quality issues, conducting root‑cause analysis.
• Work closely with OEM manufacturers and suppliers to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Validate technical documentation, test reports and compliance records against UK and international standards.
• Monitor supplier performance and support product launches in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Qualified electrical background (e.g., Electrician, White Goods Engineer, Electrical Service Engineer).
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in manufacturing, product testing or a laboratory environment dealing with household appliances.
• Strong problem‑solving and fault‑finding abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
