Technical Manager – Food

About the role

Nando's is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the sourcing of food products responsibly, safely and sustainably. You will work from the Putney office, partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure our menu meets the highest standards of quality, safety and ethical sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical supplier relationships and ensure compliance with Nando's food safety, quality, sustainability and ethical standards.
• Drive new product development, existing product updates and launches, delivering accurate allergen, nutritional and specification data.
• Manage supply‑chain risk through supplier approvals, audits, HACCP‑based assessments, surveillance testing and quality‑management programmes.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Food Innovation, Sustainability, Operations and Marketing to deliver innovative products and continuous improvements.
• Investigate quality and food‑safety incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventative actions.
• Support seasonal produce sourcing, maintaining continuity of supply and quality.
• Coach and develop direct reports, fostering a high‑performing team environment.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of technical experience in produce, chilled food manufacturing or food retail/QSR environments.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, product development, HACCP, allergen management and relevant food legislation.
• Proven experience managing supplier performance, audits and technical compliance.
