Technical Manager – Food Manufacturing (6‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead the technical and quality functions at our large‑scale bakery ingredients site in Wigan. You will be responsible for maintaining food safety, quality and compliance standards while supporting a well‑established business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site’s technical and quality functions, ensuring food safety and compliance.
• Manage audits, customer requirements and quality systems.
• Oversee a small technical team and act as the site’s technical expert.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support senior leadership on technical matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a technical or quality management role within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP and food safety/quality management systems.
• Experience managing audits, compliance standards and customer‑facing technical requirements.
• Proactive leadership style; bakery experience is advantageous but not essential.
