Technical Manager – Food Manufacturing (6‑Month FTC)

About the role
We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead the technical and quality functions of a large‑scale bakery ingredients site in Wigan. This six‑month fixed‑term role offers the chance to own technical standards, ensure food safety compliance, and support a well‑established business.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the site’s technical and quality functions, maintaining food safety and compliance standards.
- Manage internal and external audits, customer requirements, and quality systems.
- Oversee a small technical team and act as the primary technical expert on site.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support senior leadership on technical matters.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a technical or quality management role within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and food safety/quality management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage audits, compliance standards, and customer‑facing technical requirements.
- Proactive leadership style; bakery experience is advantageous but not essential.
