Technical Project Engineer – Telecoms (Scotland)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Project Engineer to join our team delivering and maintaining telecoms networks across Scotland. Based primarily in Glasgow, the role involves hands‑on field work throughout the region, supporting critical energy sector infrastructure from initial scoping to final handover.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission routers, switches, firewalls and other telecoms equipment on site.
• Carry out site surveys and produce technical documentation, including end‑of‑job network records for customer handover.
• Represent the technical team at customer meetings and support project managers across the account.
• Create health and safety documentation such as RAMS and POWRA, and assist with critical fault resolution.

Required profile

• Strong IP networking background with CCNA‑level knowledge of WAN, LAN and MPLS.
• Hands‑on experience with Nokia platforms, specifically Nokia SAR‑H and Nokia NFM‑P.
• Familiarity with XTran technology and solid routing, switching and data networking fundamentals.
• Confidence using Microsoft Visio for technical diagramming.
• Full UK driving licence for Scotland‑wide travel, including occasional overnight stays.
