Technical Projects Chemist

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Projects Chemist to join our New Product Development (NPD) team in Cheshire. The role will prioritise technical service requests, support short‑term NPD projects and ensure laboratory testing is delivered safely and to high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritise and coordinate technical service requests from customers to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Support short‑term NPD projects and customer requirements while maintaining quality and approval standards.
• Carry out laboratory testing safely, accurately and in line with agreed standards.
• Coordinate trials on production and customer sites as required.
• Collaborate with the Senior Technical Services Manager, technical teams and wider stakeholders to align priorities and resources.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all health, safety, training and compliance requirements are met.

Required profile

• Solid experience in laboratory testing, R&D, QC or technical services.
• Proven ability to prioritise multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
• Clear communicator able to work collaboratively with customers and internal teams.
• Degree or relevant qualification in Chemistry or Material Science.
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar lab‑based or technical role.
• Knowledge of statistics, data analysis or design of experiments.
• Project management experience or qualification is advantageous.
